Turner Thrilled With Hartley Capture

Hartlepool United’s director of Sport Chris Turner has admitted he’s delighted that Peter Hartley has put pen to paper with the club.

Hartley joins his home townclub from neighbours Sunderland and Turner was pleased with the signing ”The players I want to bring to Hartlepool United are the ones who have the desire and the commitment to play for the Club.

”I’ve watched Peter Hartley on a number of occasions and he shows all the right qualities. Within the last 48 hours Sunderland had approached him again about a new contract but Peter’s desire to come to Hartlepool has never wavered.” he told the official site.

He said that he has shown the right attitude in joining Pools and that he’ll be a big success at the club”In my opinion, he’s taken a step forward to enhance his career by dropping a couple of levels to join us for First Team involvement.

”We want to be successful and get in to the Championship and I know these players who we are bringing in want to play there too so we want to work towards those targets together.”
