Hartlepool United Director of Sport Chris Turner has admitted he was shocked after the resignation of Tommy Miller Snr yesterday.

Miller left his Chief Scout role after 10 years at the club and Turner was left taken aback by the decision which came ”out of the blue.”

Father of former Pools player Tommy Miller, he joined the club at the end of 1997 and Turner was full of praise for ”Tommy was very hard working and I am very surprised he has decided to leave.

”I had a very good working relationship with him and his decision has come out of the blue. He has worked for the club for a number of years and we wish him all the best.”
he told the Mail.

Turner expressed a desire to improve the scouting system at the club during a fans question and answer session recently and Miller’s departure is sure to result in further changes.
