Hartlepool United have this morning released some very welcome news, striker Joel Porter is back in full training.

Porter has not played so far this season after picking up a knee injury in pre-season training. The Aussie nicknamed Skippy by the Poolie faithful scored 16 goals last campaign but has not kicked a ball in anger so far in the 2005/2006 season. The injury came as a massive blow to the club and it was made even worse when his strike partner Adam Boyd joined him on the long term injury list.

Martin Scott told the Pools official website:-

“He’ll join in with all of our work this morning, if there’s anything we feel is too much we’ll make him sit out but with what we’ve got planned today he should be able to do the lot.

Joel is now in a sort of mini pre-season if you like because he will be working harder than the others to catch up fitness-wise.”

It’s the news that seemed like it was never coming but now we can safely say Joel Porter is BACK!
