A knee injury sustained by Carl Magnay in the draw with Mansfield at the weekend is one Craig Hignett is remaining hopeful over.

This was an injury that forced Hignett into taking him off in the nil-nil draw with Mansfield with him picking up his initial knock in the first half but was able to carry on through until another knock towards the end of the first half ended his afternoon.

Hignett doesn’t think things are too much but until he’s properly assessed by the medical staff the full extend isn’t going to be known with the boss telling the Official Site.

‘Carl felt something on the side of his knee. We don`t think it`s anything too serious so we`re hoping he`s just nipped the cartilage but we`ll have a look at him and get him assessed fully.’

The injury to Lewis Hawkins isn’t a concern for Hignett at all though, he added.

‘Lewis Hawkins also came off but his injury isn`t as bad, it was just the kind of knock you get in a game so he will be fine.’
