Hartlepool United Reserves comfortably beat Scunthorpe in this afternoon’s Totesport Cup clash at Glandford Park.

Micky Barron was able to name a strong side with Armann Bjornsson, Steve Haslam, James Poole, Denis Behan and Fabian Yantorno starting the game as well as Antony Sweeney who continues his recovery from injury.

Pools opened the scoring on the half hour mark when Denis Behan slotted past the home goalkeeper before Michael Mackay doubled the lead before half time after good work from James Poole.

Antony Sweeney grabbed the third at the start of the second half after a trademark run from midfield before a Fabian Yantorno goal rounded off a great afternoon for Pools’ second string.
