Pools have taken Scottish Striker Andrew Bagshaw on trial for 3 weeks following his release from Aberdeen.

Bagshaw was being courted by Darlington and spent time with the Quakers in May. He told the Aberdeen Press and Journal that he had to choose between the two rivals ‘Both Hartlepool and Darlington were keen to see me but I decided to go to Hartlepool.

He also revealed that he hopes to eventually get signed up for next season ‘I will have three weeks with them and, hopefully, I can do well. I’m looking forward to it.’

Bagshaw will travel with the team on the upcoming tour of Holland and could also play in next weeks friendly against Newcastle.

This can only be good news for Pools, we’re in a no lose situation here.If he’s rubbish it’s no great loss and if he’s good we’ll have first dibs. It’s good to see Danny Wilson actively trying to bring in new strikers after strengthening the back line.
