Move For Dimi Hits The Rocks

Hartlepool United’s pursuit of Dimi Konstantopoulos has once again been put on standby.

As we reported yesterday, the Greek stopper was expected to complete a years long loan deal with Pools, in search of first-team football, but the Ricoh Arena outfit are understood to be wanting another number 2 for former Carlisle man, Kieran Westwood.

However another twist in the long tale has taken place. At first the deal was expected to be a season long loan, but now Chris Coleman, is thought to be only prepared to allow Dimi to leave on a 6 month loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

Dean Brill is another target for Pools, and the lure of first-team football is thought to tempt the highly-rated stopper up north, which could mean that a deal for Dimi is now very unlikely despite the promotion-winning hero, wanting to rejoin Pools.
