The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Grimsby Town this weekend.

Hartlepool United host Grimsby Town on Saturday January 7 for the game at Victoria Park and the match carries a 3pm kick off.

Referee: Darren Drysdale
Linesmen: Robert Atkin and Duncan Street
Fourth Official: Richard Clark

The Match Day referee has officiated five games so far in 2016/17, with a return of 16 yellow cards and one red card.

His highest card count so far this year was nine yellows in the game between Bury and Oxford United.

He took in 34 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 80 yellow cards and two red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Blackburn Rovers and Derby County on October 21 with a total of six yellows being shown. He followed that in his next game between Walsall and Gillingham with another six.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
