How many more times will Hartlepool be let off the hook? For a third-match running we were beaten, when we lost at Luton on Saturday, but we still remain outside of the relegation zone following defeats for Cheltenham and Tranmere too.

Defeat at Kenilworth Road, when we went down three-nil, sees us stay a point above the bottom two whereas Luton are now back in the play-off race with them just outside the top seven.

The start couldn’t have been better for Luton, or worse for us, when McGeehan (5) headed home after just five-minutes and when Whalley went down in the area 10-minutes later they have the chance to put the game to bed.

Howells (15) took this and he scored to leave us with a mountain to overcome to get anything from this game.

We couldn’t find a foothold and after Harewood’s freekick, which was deflected, was kept out Luton wrapped up the three-nil win though Griffiths (71).

You can see more like this on Luton Town Football Club.

You tend to think that one win might do it…. At this stage though it doesn’t look like we’ll get one, so we might have to keep relying on Tranmere, who seem dead and buried, and Cheltenham losing!
