Hartlepool United midfielder Gary Liddle looks set to start this weekend’s clash with Rochdale at Spotland.

Liddle has been out since fracturing his cheek against Walsall earlier this month but surgery on his injury was successful and he has now been fitted with a protective mask, meaning he is now available for selection.

Nobby Solano and Antony Sweeney are expected to miss the game with hamstring and groin injuries respectively while Nathan Luscombe continues his suspension.

Mick Wadsworth said that his squad needed to pull together to get through the injury crisis ”It’s been far from ideal already this season in terms of the injuries we’ve picked up and we’ve lost some key players.

”But what do you do? You roll up your sleeves and get on with it. These boys are a good bunch. We`ve got a good mix of characters in there and some strong personalities. They all get on and that has been important, both on and off the pitch.”
