A traumatic seven-days, which started so positively with a win over Plymouth to breathe new live into the Hartlepool survival hopes ended with a takeover falling through and Portsmouth beating us at the weekend.

To keep ourselves in with a chance of retaining our Football League status we needed to get something at Fratton Park, and ideally all three-points but these were claimed by the hosts with Portsmouth winning one-nil.

Portsmouth had a chance inside a minute but Devera put an effort wide in a goalless first half.

The winning goal came on the hour when Tubbs (60) was afforded too much room in the box to head home his first goal for the club since his signing from Bournemouth, after a previous loan spell with AFC Wimbledon at this level.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
