Hartlepool ended the game with Mansfield with only 9-men on Boxing Day but we still came away with a point.

A second half leveller was enough to give us a one-one draw at the One Call Stadium, in a game that saw us lose two players to red cards and Mansfield one.

An early penalty appeal, when Duckworth went over, was turned away allowing Mansfield to break and following a one-two with Oliver it was Brown (10) who slid the ball under Flinders to put the hosts ahead.

Mansfield almost made it two on half time as Rhead headed a Clements corner towards goal but Holden was in the right place to clear this effort off the line.

Shortly after the break though we were level, Harewood gave the ball to Duckworth (51) who, with the help of a huge deflection, beat Mansfield’s ‘keeper Evtimov.

The lead was almost restored by Rhead minutes later but his header that firstly hit a defender on the line, then hit the bar and bounced down on the line wasn’t deemed to have crossed the line with the scores remaining level.

With Mansfield reduced to 10-men with a little under 20-minutes to play when Tafazolli collected a second yellow for a Duckworth we would have felt a winner could come but when Harewood and McGuire clashed with three-minutes left that advantage was lost with Harewood shown a straight red card.

Deep into injury-time we then went down to 9-men when Woods was sent off for also clashing with McGuire as the game ended in a one-one draw.
