It was only our fifth win of the season but the win over promotion chasing Plymouth should have given Hartlepool a huge boost.

How many would have expected a Hartlepool win against Plymouth at Victoria Park is open to debate, what what’s certain is that we collected a potentially huge three-points after a three-two win on Saturday afternoon.

Franks (8) got us off to a great start when Tshibola’s cross, who was celebrating his loan extension until the end of the season, was turned home by his from close range within 10-minutes.

Plymouth were level at the back though when Reid put in Brunt (30) who made the most of the space given to him to make it one-one on the half hour.

The lead as restored within 10-minutes of the second half when Woods picked out Franks (54) who scored his second of the afternoon to put us two-one up with Fenwick (76) keeping up his good form to make it three with less than 15-minutes to play.

Lee (90+4) headed past Flinders deep into injury-time but it was too late as we saw out a three-two win.
