Brian Laws’ potential move to Hartlepool is dead in the water after the manager was appointed as Scunthorpe boss.
Laws spent nearly a decade in charge of the club and rejoins the Iron in an attempt to save them from their own relegation battle.
He replaces Alan Knill in the hotseat at Glanford Park.
Bookmakers had previously suspended betting on Laws becoming the new Hartlepool gaffer after the former Sheff Wed boss was sounded out by the Hartlepool board, but returning to the club where he made his name proved too strong a temptation for Laws.
