Hartlepool United striker Joel Porter faces a big struggle to be fit in time for Friday’s game with Northampton.

Porter has been out with tendonitis since that strart of the month and Chris Turner revealed his worries.

”Since we’ve played Stoke [on 3 January] Joel’s not trained which is quite a concern.” he told BBC Tees.

”It’s an injury that needs rest. The more you work them the worse they get -the physios are doing their best.”

If Porter fails to make the game it seems like Andy Monhouse will form a makeshift strikeforce with either Michael Mackay or David Foley.

However, Pools are still in the hunt for a new striker and, if a signing is made, they would likely go staright into the first team.
