Hartley Completes Pools Switch

HUFC have today announced they have signed out-of-contract defender Peter Hartley from north east rivals Sunderland.

The defender, who can play in the centre or at left back, has been linked with Pools repeatedly over the summer and, as Vital Hartlepool revealed first on Tuesday, the player has now signed.

Hartley, born in Hartlepool, becomes Chris Turner’s third acquisition of the summer and the club will now be hoping to tie up a further 3 or 4 deals in the next few days.

Dean Brill is widely tipped to join Pools, from relegated Luton Town, but Hartley is a deal that Turner has been hoping to complete for a some time now after following his progress.
