Hartlepool United have given a trial to former Carlisle and QPR midfielder Paul Murray.
Murray was released by Shrewsbury at the end of last season and had been in talks with Conference North side Workington Reds before being handed a trial by Chris Turner.
The 33-year-old was capped at U21 level for England before a varied career which saw him play for Oldham, QPR, Carlisle, Southampton, Gretna and Portuguese Premier League side Beira Mair.
He is also a familiar face to new Pools coach Mick Wadsworth who he worked with during their time at Brunton Park in the mid 90s.

Because this does not sound good at all-its haslam all over again-are we a LEAGUE 1 CLUB having to resort to literally scraping the barrell-can we not attract better than this Chris Turner??

Im sorry guys-but I deal with facts here- murray a 33 year old released from a league 2 club,the urugyaun lad-released from chester city non league at the time,horwood-not deemed good enough for carlisle in league1,and now this kevin bobbins or whatever-he hasnt played for a club since being released 1 YEAR AGO??????????
