What was a pretty poor game was sparked to life 10 minutes from time!

Neither team had a clear cut chance in the first half apart from one strike from James running through on goal but the keeper came out quickly to close him down. After a loud showing from both sets of fans the singing died out to bring the atmosphere down to the games level!

2nd half improved slightly but still minimal chances! With York having 2 big chances within seconds of each other! First blocked by what looked as if it was great defending (forward might of spooned it) followed by a shot from 6 yards out that ended up at Crimdon beach!

Cooper changed it bringing Harewood off for Franks and Barmby on for Monkhouse! Things then changed a bit! A Walton corner ended up back out wide and he lifted the ball back in for Baldwin to smartly knock it down for Luke James to finish neatly! 2nd goal came shortly after with Luke Williams breaking past a few Yorkies before putting the ball across the box for Barmby to cut inside and curl the ball into the far post from the edge of the box!

Predicting some questions –
Harewood: still didnt get brilliant service, a few heavy touches but showed his class a few times to win important corners and to take heat off James.
Williams: fantastic! Bit like Poole, played behind the forwards and when he got the ball was happy to run at the defenders! Showed some good touches too!
Barmby: refreshing to see a winger taking the full backs on! The goal was just class!
Holden: didnt do himself any harm. Few poor touches but was steady and would be unlucky if he somehow found himself dropped!

Other mentions to Franks who played well when he came on up front, in my eyes that is his best position! And the tactics I think we’re made to fit Williams in to the team. 4-3-1-2 was the formation so Williams could roam behind the forwards, the problem was we were extremely narrow, leaving the full backs bare and with no outlet from the wings.
