At half time on Saturday afternoon it was looking for a much needed Hartlepool win, but a second half comeback from York City saw the win at Victoria Park.

Hartlepool, still seeking a first league 2 win under Paul Murray, were on course for this win but three goals in 10-minutes early in the second half meant that we ended up losing 3-1.

A first professional goal for Scott Fenwick (27) saw him mark his full debut for us with a goal to put us ahead. Marlon Harewood and Fenwick missed further chances to extend the lead but they couldn’t take it.

Those missed chances came back to haunt us with Keith Lowe (53 & 55) heading past Scott Flinders twice in two minutes to see the visitors come from behind to go ahead. A little after the hour, and a third goal in 10-minutes, Jake Hyde (63) curled home the third to secure a three-one win.

A battle of the strugglers ended with York earning the points to leave us rock bottom!
