David Foley grabbed the winner as Hartlepool Reserves beat their Leeds counterparts at Billingham’s Bedford Terrace.

It was a much needed win for the second string after 5 defeats on the bounce but it looked like it might not be Pools night as Ben Clark’s first half penalty was well saved by Leeds keeper Ryan Jones.

Paul Huntington came close for the visitors as his header from a corner was saved by Pools’ stopper Mark Cook.

With eight minutes remaining Michael Mackay, back from his recent loan spell at Gateshead, had an effort parried by Leeds keeper Jones before David Foley popped up to hit home and seal the win.
