Ronnie Moore has confirmed to the Official Website that Michael Duckworth has suffered an injury setback that will keep him out Hartlepool action for a few more week, at least….

Duckworth had returned to training but an injury during this last Friday has set him back at least another three-weeks! Minimum.

A hamstring injury in Pools’ Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat against Sheffield United has sidelined Duckworth since, it wasn’t likely he would have returned against Cambridge even without a setback but this is another blow.

Moore’s already without Jordan Richards, he’s ‘stepping up’ his own return, but with Brad Halliday filling in and Carl Magnay back from suspension things aren’t as bad as they could have been but the Pools boss still knows Duckworth’s extended absence is disappointing for all concerned.

He said.

‘It’s a real shame for Michael because he had been working hard to get fit and came back looking sharp.

‘We’ve not had a great deal of luck in that right-back position this season but thankfully we have Brad Halliday in there at the moment and Carl Magnay is back from suspension next week too.’
