Hartlepool United Reserves fought back from 2 goals down to draw with their Leeds counterparts to a draw at Elland Road last night.

A strong Leeds side went ahead after 15 minutes when Tresor Kandol put the ball past Pools keeper Mark Cook at the second attempt.

The home side doubled their lead soon after as Kandol grabbed his second of the night. Enoch Showunmi made a good run down the left wing before pulling it back for Kandol to slot home.

Pools pulled one back at the start of the second half when Billy Greulich fired past Frank Fielding in the Leeds goal. Keeper Mark Cook was the hero for Pools as he kept out efforts from Showunmi, William Hatfield and Mike Grella before Pools grabbed an equaliser.

After Showunmi gave away possession in Pools half, Ritchie Jones picked up the ball before a surging run through the home defence and a smart finish to bring the sides level.

  • That photo is from when he was at newcastle so hes going to look quite young. Thomas i think is a mystery isnt he hes only a Youth Player.

  • Well spotted thepooliedoctor, that photo is about 2 and a bit years old so he was 18 in that photo, 21 now.

  • You’re not a sad act – I think a lot of us saw it and put two and two together and got the customary 4. Or was that 5? Is there any place for a theoretical conversation about synergy on the Vital Board? I think the answer will be a resounding NO!
