Hartlepool United assistant manager Ian Butterworth is in negotiations to join Norwich City.

The talks are expected to conclude soon with Butterworth joining new Canaries boss Bryan Gunn as assistant manager.

Micky Barron joined Chris Turner in the dugout on Saturday and will remian there until a new coach is appointed.

”Micky Barron was there as an extra pair of eyes on the sidelines. It’s good experience for Micky. He is well respected by other players and played with them two years ago.

”We will have to wait and see what happens to see if someone else comes in.”
