Hartlepool United striker Adam Boyd has told fans not to worry about his lack of goals in pre-season so far.
Boyd has failed to score in Pools 3 games so far but said he isn’t concerned ”Don’t get me wrong it would be nice to score a couple.
”But it’s about sharpness and match fitness. Come Milton Keynes, if I don’t score, then you start to worry!” he told the Mail.
He said the lack of games towards the end of last season with Leyton Orient means he’s not as sharp as he could be.
”It’s been a while since I played in the league and I’m still lacking some sharpness. I’ve got two weeks to do some short, sharp stuff in training and I’m sure come the first game I’ll be firing on all cylinders.”
