Hartlepool United striker Adam Boyd has admitted he’s delighted to return to the club and that it was his only choice.

He said that he wasn’t eager to leave Leyton Orient, until his hometown club came in ”If it was any other club other than Hartlepool of that size, then I would have stayed at Leyton Orient.

”I had just signed a contract there but then as soon as they accepted a bid from Hartlepool, that was it. It was real easy. I’ve got two kids and a girlfriend who are all from the town so to come back to our family and more importantly the club, was a real easy choice.”
he told the Mail.

After leaving Pools in 2006 for Luton, he joined Orient a year later. He admits that he could have left Brisbane Road in January if the O’s had been in a better league position.

”It was hard for Orient in January because they would have taken the money then if it wasn’t for their league position.

”But if they had sold their top scorer when they were bottom of the league, it would probably have sent out the wrong signals to the fans.”
