Hartlepool United Reserves beat their Bradford counterparts tonight after a second half double from Armann Bjornsson.

Pools were behind after just 3 minutes when a free kick deflected off trialist Julian Cherel and past helpless keeper Nick Thomas. Later in the half Jonny Rowell had a good chance for Pools before Rory Boulding was sent off for the home side after stamping on Neil Austin.

Just after the break Pools pulled level when Maxime Chanot put the ball past his own keeper following a Ritchie Humphreys cross.

Pools dominated the game from this point and took the lead on 70 minutes through Armann Bjornsson. A long ball upfield caught Jon McLaughlin in no-mans land and Bjornsson was able to head the ball past the helpless Bantams keeper and into the net.

It was just 8 minutes before Bjornsson struck again, the Icelandic international headed past McLaughlin once again. Pools then added a fourth when substitute Anthony Wakefield headed home on 90 minutes.

Fairly annoyed that Austin played the full 90 when he was quality on Satda and deserves to start instead of Haslam.
