Neil Austin has said he’s relishing the return of pre season because he knows the anticipation of 2014-15 is really building now following the earlier release of the fixture list last week.

The full back is fresh from signing his new extended deal at Victoria Park and especially having missed the end of last season with an injury, he told the Official Site that he couldn’t wait to get back and get going again now.

‘I always look for the first and last games and then around Christmas and birthdays – I have to say I’m not surprised at all that we’re away first and last game, and also on Boxing Day! At the end of the day it doesn’t make a difference to us, we’ll just do our best in every single one and we’re raring to go now.’

Austin goes on to say that there should be a fantastic atmosphere for the fans on the last game when we travel to Carlisle, and he knows it’ll be a big difference for them because it’s not a massive away trip like previous years.

‘It could be an absolutely immense afternoon and if we can be up around the play offs by then I am sure the fans will turn out in force and it will be an unbelievable atmosphere.’

A big thing for the 31 year old this season is that we don’t spend the season playing catch up again, given our start last season that saw us go six matches without a win. He knows that if we are serious about making a push for the play offs, then we need a good start to help get our noses in front of others in the division and hopefully that start can help see us through the rough patches every team has during the course of a campaign.

This site is looking for bloggers, so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports them we would love to share it with the masses!
