The loan spell of Matty Dolan has been extended at Hartlepool for another month.

Since his arrival in August (towards the end of it) the midfielder has been a key part of Colin Coopers first team and so far featured in 10 first team outings and found the back of the net once.

Cooper (who has been linked with a return to Middlesbrough himself) has thanked Boro for extending his loan again, telling the official website: ‘We’ve talked to Middlesbrough and we’re thankful to them for helping us extend the loan.

‘Matty was a player I was always interested in bringing to Victoria Park and we’re delighted that he’s going to be staying with us for at least another month.’

Dolan has, like I say, been instrumental to Cooper’s plans since his arrival at Victoria Park with him well known to him before he took the Pools job due to his (obviously) previous with the championship side.

Continuing to play such a key role would be something I would expect to keep happening, starting this weekend.

I always though that month-long loans could only be extended for a maximum of three-months so thought this would see the last we could loan him?

Perhaps not due to Cooper saying “at least another month”, he clearly has plans to extend again if possible…
